Co-Founders, The Jazz Leadership Project

A husband and wife team deeply involved in the arts and business for decades, Greg Thomas and Jewel Kinch-Thomas have curated and executed events throughout the New York tri-state area. They specialize in jazz and have presented renowned artists such as Benny Golson, Ron Carter, Clark Terry, Dianne Reeves, Jon Hendricks, Aaron Diehl, Lew Tabackin, Christian McBride, among others. Jewel, COO and Co-Facilitator of the Jazz Leadership Project (JLP), has spent 20+ years leading cultural organizations, producing festivals, galas, and conferences. Jewel has been a participant in New York Foundation for the Arts Leadership Circles, Columbia University’s Arts Leadership Institute, and the Women & Power: Leadership for the 21st Century program at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Greg, CEO and Lead Facilitator of JLP, is a writer, public speaker and events producer. Greg has conducted programs for the National Jazz Museum in Harlem, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Columbia University, Hamilton College, the New School, and Harvard. They were inspired to form the Jazz Leadership Project after Jazz at Lincoln Center called on them to facilitate its educational leadership program in 2016. As avid advocates for the power of music to inspire and engage, they decided to use the fine art of jazz to give individuals and companies an innovative, actionable model for leadership development, team synergy, and enhanced inclusion. JLP leverages talent mapping, jazz music, and online content to model how change can be managed in internal and external environments. As participants in their presentation will discover, leadership development through music is a fun, interactive way to embody practical lessons in an energetic, playful environment.
