Sarah Romotsky, RD is the Health Strategist at Headspace where she works to increase awareness of the science behind mindfulness meditation in an effort to fulfill the company’s vision of improving the health and happiness of the world. Headspace is the world’s most popular meditation app which is scaling to become the most comprehensive guide to health and happiness. At Headspace, Sarah leads initiatives to educate users, B2B customers, and the media on the health benefits of meditation, and specifically mindful eating, and the efficacy of the Headspace product. As a registered dietitian, Sarah understands the importance of science and evidence-based guidance and practice in adopting new healthy habits. During her work in nutrition settings, it became evident to Sarah that any effort to improve physical health must include a strategy to address mental health as the two are inextricably linked. Prior to Headspace, Sarah worked in nutrition communications in Washington DC where she lead the development and implementation of strategic communication initiatives that positively impacted consumer eating behaviors.Sarah has over 12 years of experience in health and science communications. Sarah received a BA in Mass Communications from University of California, Berkeley and later completed the Dietetic Program at San Francisco State University. Sarah has often served as a media spokesperson on issues around health, wellness, and science communications. She has contributed content to a variety of media outlets including US News & World Report, Huffington Post, SHAPE, and Martha Stewart.
